ROUTE OF THE CASTLES IN ARAGON : OTHERS CASTLES
- AINSA: Its castle, which presents rests dating back to the 11th C., was remodelled between the 16th and the 17th C.
- BIEL: Romanesque tower from the 11th C. This could be the birthplace of King Alfonso I the Fighter. The town is a singular Medieval ensemble.
- SAMITIER: Tower and church.
- MURO DE RODA: Spectacular 11th C. fortress with a Romanesque church with three naves and a crypt.
- FANTOVA: Circular Lombard-Romanesque tower from the 11th C. with attached Romanesque church of a single nave and a semicircular apse.
- ABIZANDA: Imposing Romanesque tower from the 11th C.
- MONTEARAGON (HUESCA): Romanesque castle-abbey (12th C.). Though it is in ruins, you can still see its walls, the tower, the keep and the Baroque church.
- TRASMOZ: 12th. C. castle famous because of the legends about witches and covens.
- MONTAÑANA: Medieval ensemble: lay-out, rests of the walls, towers and bridges.
- ALFAJARIN: Muslim castle from the 9th C. Then it became mansion for the Barons of Cornel, Espes and Alagon. The Hall is still conserved.
- MESONES DE ISUELA: Castle-palace from the 14th-15th C. The northeast tower is remarkable, with a dome with painted wood in the Mudejar style.
- ILLUECA: Castle-palace from the 14th-15th C., in the Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque styles.
Here the famous Papa Luna, Benedicto XIII, was born.
- CALATORAO: Castle with a Muslim origin transformed into a fortified palace around 1500.
It is made of brick, with battlements, and it is one of the few inhabited castles in Aragon.
- MEQUINENZA: Castle from the 13th-14th C., with a vast fortified area. Now it belongs to the ENHER company.
- CETINA: Castle-palace from the 15th century. The east tower is probably from an older period.
In its Gothic oratory the poet Francisco de Quevedo got married.
- CASPE: Gothic ensemble of the Collegiate church of Santa Maria la Mayor and the rests of the castle-palace where the famous Compromise took place in 1412 to proclaim king of Aragón the Castilian prince Fernando I of Antequera.
- ALBALATE DEL ARZOBISPO: Gothic castle from the 13th-14th C., an interesting Gothic room has been conserved.
The whole town is a Historic-Artistic Ensemble.
- MAELLA: 16th C. castle, in late Gothic style. It belonged to the Calatrava order. Next to it, a Gothic church with a Classic facade.
- ALCALA DE LA SELVA: Romanesque-Gothic castle (12th C.) built on a previous Muslim building.

OTHERS CASTLES. Castles in Aragon. Tourism in Aragon. In Aragon remains a lot of castles built between the s. IX and XVI. Most formed strategic positions or shelter and some were conceived as noble residence.
Few Aragonese castles that sit on a totally flat, being more frecuenteslos castles built on rocks or mountains.
