FESTIVALS IN ARAGON: DAROCA "LOS CORPORALES".

On Corpus Christi day, at the beginning of June.

It is a procession in honour of the Holy Corporals. According to tradition, in 1239 the Hosts miraculously became blood and stuck to the corporals that covered them. They are kept in the church of Saint Mary, in a gold shrine donated by the Catholic Monarchs (15^th century). The procession is very colourful, with the canopy, the crosses, a monstrance donated by Pedro IV and other old ornaments, but, above all, with the thousands of petals of flowers that are thrown as the procession passes.
