NATURAL SPACES IN ARAGON : SIERRA DE GUARA
The PARK OF THE SIERRA AND CANYONS OF GUARA constitutes the main pre-Pyrenean sierras, with an average height (Puntón de Guara: 2070 m.), deep defiles in the South face and limestone rocky areas as El Salto de Roldan, Isun Mallos and Vadiello Mallos.
CANYONS :
The rivers Vero, Mascún, Formiga, Flumen, Balcés, Guatizalema and Alcanadre have excavated deep and narrow gorges, ringed with high limestone walls. We find otters, birds of prey, quebrantahuesos (bearded vultures) and vultures.
LA GUARGUERA : The valley of the river Guarga, the north face of the sierra, has a great richness of plants and fauna: wild boars, roe deer, deer and wild cats. It is a hunting reserve. The Gleras in the shady area of the Puntón de Guara are stony areas colonized by a singular flora adapted to this hostile environment.
